Free NFL Betting Picks Week 3 from Expert Pro Football Handicapper

$60 in Free Picks

Brutal week for me last week not only with my Week 2 Survivor Pool picks (like the rest of the world) but also for my NFL Week 2 betting picks. It started off with a bad beat on the Thursday game as I had my biggest pick thus far of the season on Kansas City. They played better than the Broncos overall but a few untimely turnovers and some bad coaching decisions did them in when it looked like they had the game in the bag. The rest of the weekend didn’t go much better. But the good news is that I still have one card left in my Survivor Pool (which is down to less than 20 people; I like my chances in this scenario) and that this is a long NFL season and I expect to bounce back with my betting picks this week.

I will offer these free picks each week during the pro football season on this blog. The picks will be ranked between 1 and 3 units, with each unit representing a $100 bet (we will factor in the juice to all results). Not all players use $100 per unit, so feel free to use a unit amount that you are comfortable with. I have been handicapping the NFL for years and consider this my strongest sport, so feel free to follow along and maybe we can both make some money this season.

We highly recommend using Bovada Sportsbook, and they have some amazing bonus deals for first-time clients when you sign up through our Web site (Click Here). We can’t recommend this Sportsbook enough. All lines in this article come from Bovada unless otherwise noted.

Free NFL Betting Picks Week 3

Pick No. 1

2-Unit Straight Bet

New York Giants -4 over Washington

The Redskins come in at 1-1 while the Giants are 0-2. The Skins had a win last week against a St. Louis team that had come off a Week 1 win against Seattle. But I think that was a total trap game for the Rams and don’t give a lot of credit to Washington for that win. I also think the Giants are better than their record, and they have had some really good stretches but have yet to put together a complete game. I think it happens here on Thursday Night Football. Pick No. 2

1-Unit Straight Bet

Jacksonville +14 over New England

Now this was the Jacksonville team I was expecting to see. I expected improvement from this club this season, and that finally showed through in their Week 2 upset of Miami. New England is the largest public team in the NFL, and since they have played really well the oddsmakers always add points to their line. While I think they are the rightful favorite here, I think this line should be closer to 10 points. This looks like a letdown spot after the Patriots had two really tough opponents to start the season, and I think Jacksonville can stay within two touchdowns here. Pick No. 3

1-Unit Straight Bet

Dallas +2 over Atlanta

Dallas is a team that I always play as an underdog and fade as a favorite. They should be in the underdog role quite a bit this season now that Tony Romo and Dez Bryant are out for an extended period. I have always liked Brandon Weeden, and he has some experience with years in the league. I think he can keep this team afloat until Romo returns. This line is an overreaction to the injuries. And I am not sold on the Falcons yet even though they have looked solid to start the season. I think Dallas can squeeze out a win here. Pick No. 4

2-Unit Straight Bet

Indianapolis -3.5 over Tennessee

I am not ready to give up on the Colts yet. One big win and they will be back in the playoff conversation. This Tennessee team looked lousy last week. Their big Week 1 win was against a bad Tampa Bay team. I don’t give them much credit for that. The Colts entire season really rests on this game as not many teams come back from 0-3 to make the playoffs. I expect Andrew Luck to carry the team on his shoulders here. Indy screwed me in betting and Survivor Pools last week. But I am not ready to give up on them yet. And I think there is real value in this line. Click here to get stated with Bovada today. Pick No. 5

1-Unit Straight Bet

Oakland +3.5 over Cleveland (line from Betonline.ag)

I always look for the hook on a three-point line. Three-point lines mean the game is pretty even. A field goal is the most common margin of victory in the NFL, and three is the biggest key number in NFL betting. I always look to play +3.5 lines like this. I think this one is a field goal game either way. Both teams looked good last week. But this one could go either way, and I think the underdog is the only way to play this. If this one was in Oakland and the Browns were getting +3.5 I would be looking to play them. This looks like a close game! First time betting online? Pick No. 6

1-Unit Straight Bet

Kansas City +7 over Green Bay (line from Sportsbook.ag)

I had this game handicapped at Green Bay -5.5, so I think that there is value here. I don’t see this game as being a blowout. The Chiefs always seem to play the Packers well. Remember a couple years ago when the 7-9 Chiefs were the only team to beat Green Bay? This line is at the key NFL betting number of 7. I don’t see a blowout here, and I think this one has a great chance to cover or push at the worst. The Chiefs seem to have put that collapse against the Broncos behind them. This is a playoff team in my eyes, and I think they come to play on Monday Night Football.
