Free NFL Betting Picks Week 7 from Expert Pro Football Handicapper

It was the best week of the season so far in Week 6, although that isn’t saying much. A slow start to the season so far, for sure, with only two winning weeks. However, I am confident I can get on a roll here. Last week I went only 3-3 but hit both my big-unit plays for a nice +3 unit week. I really like the card this week and have my largest card thus far this season. Another big week here and we’re back in business.

Free NFL Betting Picks Week 7

Pick No. 1

1-Unit Straight Bet

Jacksonville +7 over Buffalo (SportBet)

This game is being played in London. I really think the long trip over the pond favors the underdog here. This is very unusual travel for both teams in the middle of the season, and this is expected to be a close game. Buffalo just hasn’t looked good lately and has a very long injury report that includes several key contributors. The Jags have shown improvement the last couple weeks, and I think they come to play here on Sunday.

Pick No. 2

2-Unit Straight Bet

Cleveland +6 over St. Louis

These are two teams I like as underdogs. I don’t like either one of them as a favorite, however, so have to go with the underdog Browns in this matchup. The Browns come to play every week, and despite the 2-4 record they should have some confidence here after taking the Broncos to OT last week. But this one just boils down to the fact that I don’t think the Rams should be this big of favorites over anyone right now. Pick No. 3

1-Unit Straight Bet

Miami -4 over Houston (BetOnline)

I think the Dolphins have gotten off to a slow start rather than being a bad team. They came on in a big way last week as they trounced Tennessee on the road. They have a new coach, and that game will help with the confidence and momentum. This team is a lot better than the Texans overall, and they should cover this line with ease as long as they play to their capabilities.

Pick No. 4

1-Unit Straight Bet

New York Jets +10 over New England (SportBet)

Consider me on the Jets bandwagon. I wasn’t as down on this team as most heading into the season, but they have surpassed my medial expectations. This is a big rivalry. The Jets always play hard and give their best effort in this matchup. They have covered four straight in this series and are 4-1 against the spread in their five games this season. They are underrated again here, and since I had this line handicapped at seven points, I think there is some really nice value here.

Pick No. 5

1-Unit Straight Bet

Detroit +3 over Minnesota

Love the home dog here catching three at Bovada. Minnesota has lost both road games and has not looked impressive in either. They didn’t play well last week at home vs. a Chiefs team that may get the No. 1 draft pick next year. Detroit finally got their first win last week. That was only against the Bears, but Chicago has looked surprisingly decent, so I do give Detroit some credit for that win. They should be hungry to get another one here at home against a division rival. Try Bovada as they have a very easy-to-use interface and they make deposits a snap. Click here.

Pick No. 6

1-Unit Straight Bet

Atlanta -3.5 over Tennessee (Sportsbetting.ag)

After their season-opening win vs. the Buccaneers, the Titans have looked just horrible. They have now lost four straight and were embarrassed by the Dolphins last weekend. Atlanta is also coming off a loss, but they were in a bad spot against New Orleans on Thursday in one of those short turnaround games that favors the home team. QB Marcus Mariota is banged up for the Titans. He is questionable to play here. That is not a big deal because he’s a rookie and not that good yet, but this should be another blow to the Titans confidence if he can’t play. Atlanta should bounce back here, and they have shown that they can win big with victories by six or more points in three of their last four games, including two double-digit blowouts.

Pick No. 7

1-Unit Straight Bet

Tampa Bay +3.5 over Washington

I just don’t think the Redskins should be favored by more than the key NFL betting number of three against anyone, even the Bucs. I do like Washington as an underdog team because they run the ball well and play strong defense (most of the time). I wouldn’t like this one as much at -3, but the extra half point here is huge because I see this one as a close game, and a field goal will probably decide it either way. And, oh yeah, the Bucs won by 20 in Washington less than a year ago. Pick No. 8

1-Unit Straight Bet

Dallas +3.5 over New York Giants

Both these teams have the M.O. of playing great as an underdog and stinking it up as a favorite. Dallas has had its struggles this season, but they have won five straight meetings in this series, and I expect this one to be a close game. Again, the extra half point on top of the key number of three is paramount here. New York hasn’t shown any consistency so far this season. Matt Cassel can be a decent game manager for Dallas, and they could have WR Dez Bryant back here as well.
