Free NFL Picks Week 10: Westgate SuperContest Expert Betting Predictions

$60 in Free Picks

A tough week in the SuperContest as we went just 1-3-1 for our worst week so far this year and not how we wanted to start our new feature article. Hopefully we can hit a 5-0 this week to make up some ground.

Here are the results from last week:

Denver PK Over Oakland – Loss

New Orleans -3.5 over San Francisco – Win

Philadelphia +2.5 over New York Giants – Loss

Carolina -3 over Los Angeles – Push

Pittsburgh +3 over Baltimore – Loss

Here is a little info on the Westgate SuperContest for those who are not familiar. The SuperContest is pro football handicapping contest in the world’s largest race and sports book, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. Contestants can win their share of the prize pool by paying a $1,500 entry fee prior to the start of the regular professional football season and then picking 5 games each week against the point spread throughout the 17-week regular season. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest is based on picking winning teams against the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook contest line.

You get one point for a win, a half point for a tie and no points for a loss. If you select the Thursday game you must submit your entire card. Submitting a card on Thursday can be a little risky with late week player injuries.

Here are our Week 10 Super Contest Selections using the current posted Westgate SuperContest spread:

Cleveland +9.5 over Baltimore We normally try to stay away from Thursday night games as you must submit the entire card but this one is just to good to pass up. The Browns have been playing the Ravens tough lately losing 25-20 earlier this year, 33-27 and 33-30 OT in 2015. Baltimore’s offense is not special or built to blow anybody out. Divisional games are always closer than expected. Grab the points with Cleveland

Carolina -3 over Kansas City This not a good match up for KC as they are generally a conservative offense that does not throw the ball downfield which is how teams have been beating the Panthers this year. The Panthers defense has started to round into form and should pressure QB Alex Smith who is returning from injury. The Chiefs are hoping RB Spencer Ware can return to play after a recent concussion. This will probably be a low scoring affair but the Panthers get the cover.

Washington -3 over Minnesota The 5-0 start of the season seems so far away for the Vikings now as they are a mess offensively unable to run block or protect QB Sam Bradford. Washington has an underrated defense that can put pressure on Sam Bradford. Meanwhile Washington was starting to click on offense before the bye and should be ready and rested for a struggling Vikings team.

Houston -1.5 over Jacksonville Houston comes off a bye taking on a disappointing Jacksonville team. Houston has not won on the road this year but that has been against New England, Minnesota and Denver. Jacksonville just is not in that same class. Bill O’Brien is a good game plan coach and will get the Texans offensive weapons (RB Lamar Miller and WR Hopkins) the ball in space. Small number to lay on the road.

Seattle +7.5 over New England I am trying to remember the last time Seattle was a 7.5 point dog? Seattle still has a top defense and the offense is coming around late like it last season. Seattle also tends to bring there best games against top opponents. New England deserves a lot of respect and may get the win at home but 7.5 is to many points to give to a potential Super Bowl team.
