Week 10 NFL Survivor Pool Picks: Official Predictions from Former Winners

$60 in Free Picks

I took Atlanta as my under-the-radar pick last week, and they didn’t disappoint in their Thursday night romp in Tampa Bay. Since that game was early in the week, I was hoping for a rash of upsets on Sunday in order to dwindle my Survivor Pool down from the 15 other contestants, but since chalk was strong on Sunday and Monday only one person dropped out of my pool.

I really think this season may see an extraordinary amount of competitors last through all 17 weeks in most Survivor Pools. Those still alive may end up splitting the pot against many others. I can’t remember so many players still being alive this late in the season in my main pool, and with teams like Cleveland and Jacksonville stinking so bad there are some good opportunities to ride a fade team all the way through Week 17.

For the remainder of the season, myself and SurvivorPoolPicks.com co-founder Kyle McCarthy will provide one big favorite, one under-the-radar team and one team to stay away from for each week of the NFL season through Week 17.

Week 10 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Jeremy Martin

Best Big Favorite

Arizona vs. San Francisco: Like everyone else still alive in your NFL Survivor Pool, I like the Arizona Cardinals this week as my top Week 10 pick. They are coming off a bye and already beat the Niners in San Francisco earlier in the season. And the 49ers seem to be getting worse every week as team morale plummets. The Cardinals haven’t played up to expectations this season but this is still a good team and one that will probably finish the season with a flourish.

Under-the-Radar Pick

Carolina vs. Kansas City: I have to admit I am a Chiefs fan, but that never stops me from betting on or against them when I think there is value. I learned a long time ago to separate team loyalty from betting. And I think the Chiefs are in trouble this week. If this team has had any weakness it has been on the road. And this team is dealing with some key injuries, Carolina is desperate and this is a must-win game for them and I think they will get the win here.

Stay Away

Baltimore vs. Cleveland: The Ravens will probably win, but I just think that Arizona is so much better of a pick for Week 10 Survivor Pools. Baltimore is coming off a Week 9 home win over Pittsburgh but I think that was more of a case of bad play by the road team than an excellent game by Baltimore. This team just isn’t that impressive to me, and the fact that this one is on Thursday really scares me. That short week really hurts teams in terms of preparation and can even the talent divide between teams like this. Plus, no team has gone winless since the Detroit Lions in 2008, and that was the only time in history that has happened in a 16-game season. Cleveland will probably win one game before the season ends.

Kyle McCarthy

Best Big Favorite

Arizona vs San Francisco: Arizona beat the 49ers handily 33-21 in San Francisco back in Week 5 behind the strong running of David Johnson. Not much has changed for the 49ers who are aloowing 190 rushing yards per game which is not surprisingly dead last in the NFL. Expect the Cardinal to rely heavily on David Johnson again in a must win situation for the Cardinals.

Under-the-Radar Pick

Washington vs Minnesota: Washington is coming off a bye and has looked very balanced on offense while the Vikings have not been able to sustain any type of offense at all. The Vikings defense has started to crack being left on the field way to long with all the 3 and outs. Washington hands Minnesota its 3rd straight loss.

Stay Away

Atlanta vs Philadelphia: The Eagles have lost 4 of their last 5 but they are a different team at home with the fired up Vet Stadium crowd then on the road. As home dogs the Eagles beat the Steelers straight up 34-3 and the Vikings 21-10. The Eagles rank 5th in the NFL only allowing 267 yards per game and also rank 5th with 23 QB sacks on the year. Matt Ryan and Falcons offense have had an easy go against San Diego, Green Bay and Tampa Bay over the last 3 weeks and will find the sledding much harder against the Eagles.
