This weekly feature is intended to help you with your weekly NFL Confidence Pool. It can also be handy to NFL Survivor Pool players as we rank the games we like from strongest to weakest whether we have used any team in our Survivor Pool or not. So the No. 1 team would be our top Survivor Pool pick if we had every team available to us.

We always advise to be very sparing with underdog picks. If you go crazy with underdogs and they lose then you can be out of the running in your pool quickly, and then you will really be forced to use too many underdogs in order to give yourself a chance to catch up. NFL Confidence Pools are a marathon, not a sprint, and racking up as many wins as you can each week is paramount.

Analysis: I just stated above to stay away from too many upsets, but here I go and make a bunch of upset picks. I think that this week warrants it. You have a bunch of road favorites this week and some matchups of bad teams. I think out of the whole card that the Patriots have the best chance to win, although I do think it will be somewhat of a close game. The Texans have a nice defense. Philadelphia looks good against the Giants coming in on a short week. I am pretty lukewarm about the Packers, but there they are at No. 3 as that just shows how tough this week is. I expect them to win, but a loss against the desperate Bengals would not shock me one bit. This is probably the highest I have had the Browns since we started this blog. The Colts are just a train wreck, and I think the Browns will take this chance for a big win. Lots of other upsets down lower on my card and I expect a wacky Week 3 in the NFL.

Analysis: We had a solid week 2 in our confidence going 12-4 in the pick’em. This week I like Green Bay to get up early and cruise to a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Green Bay does have a couple of injury questions at WR with Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb hobbled. However, the Bengals have not scored a TD this season and have replaced offensive coordinator Zampese with former Chip Kelly protégé Bill Lazor. Miami is our second top pick as they take on the lowly NY Jets. Miami was impressive in their opener, going across country to beat an underrated Chargers team who could very easily be 2-0. No real upset picks on my Week 3 chart but consider the Dallas over Arizona game a toss-up.
