We always recommend to stay away from going to upset crazy as slow and steady normally wins this race. If you are behind late in the season then you can be more aggressive with underdogs.

Analysis: The Raiders are my top NFL Survivor Pool pick for Week 2, so of course they will be my top consensus pick as well. I like quite a few of the heavy favorites but I do think the underdogs will play well and cover some spreads in Week 2. Big favorites I am wary of include the Bengals, Seahawks and Baltimore. I think a lot of the big-spread teams will win but not cover. And I think there will be a few upsets among the teams that are laying less than seven points. This isn’t a good week, in my opinion, to get tricky in Survivor Pools and just go with the Raiders, who I think are one of the better picks we will have available this season.

Analysis: Not too many surprises in Week 2 with my confidence picks. My No. 1 selection is the Oakland Raiders, who looked very impressive in taking down a tough Tennessee Titans team on the road in Week 1. It is too early in the season for the Raiders to experience a letdown game, so expect the Raiders to easily handle the New York Jets. I am confident the New England Patriots bounce back after a disappointing home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Seattle rounds out my top 3 picks against San Francisco, whose offense could not get going against a tough Carolina D so we do not expect them to be able to move the ball against the Legion of Boom. On the upset front I like Cleveland over Baltimore. Baltimore did not put up much offense against a limited Bengals D, and while the Ravens defense performed to a high level the Browns offensive line is a much better front. Cleveland could give Baltimore surprise upset.
